...asking a bunch of stupid questions.

Lt. George Wydell: What did you see? Who was she with? Where was she going?
Captain Spaulding: I don't know. Yeah, that girl was in here last night. She was with three other stupid kids. They was nosing around...
asking a bunch of stupid questions.
Deputy Steve Naish: Questions about what?
Captain Spaulding: I don't know. This and that. Mostly a bunch of tired Dr. Satan bullshit. Look,
they caught a gander at the display in the back and they figured they'd run out and solve the great big Deadwood mystery about Dr. Satan.
Lt. George Wydell: And how'd they get that idea?
Captain Spaulding: I wrote 'em a map... out to the old farm road that runs past the Hanging Tree. I figured, what the hell? Can't do no harm. Besides, it's good for my tourist trade. Ha, ha!
Deputy Steve Naish: You can shit ten bricks for all I care.

All they want to do is eat and fuck.

Stucky: Shit, I can't do nothing with this now. I can't get rid of this. It ain't worth nothing. My name's all over it. I was gonna fix it to trade it with Jackie Cobb.
Captain Spaulding: That retard who hangs out at Molly's fruit stand? For the lot of me, I do not understand why you hang out with that asshole.
Stucky: He's one horney retard.
Captain Spaulding: Well hell, arn't they all?
All they want to do is eat and fuck.
Stucky: Well, if you knew him better you might understand his urges.
Captain Spaulding: Worse than a rabid-ass baboon.
Stucky: You know what his favorite thing is next to whacking his weasel? He takes a sharpened pencil, sticks it in his eyeball and twists it.
Captain Spaulding: What?
Stucky: He doesn't hurt himself. He kind of twists it next to his eyeball.
Captain Spaulding:
Oh, he's been putting that pencil someplace other than his eyeball.
Stucky: Oh no, he don't do anything like that. Although one time,
he got caught with a Planet of the Apes doll stuck up his asshole.
Captain Spaulding: God damn!
Stucky: They had to take him to the hospital. The kid had Dr. Zaius stuck halfway up his butt and they couldn't get it out!

Who's your daddy?

Otis: I'm the one who brings the Christmas candy. Now tell me, who's your daddy? I'm the one who brings the devil's brandy.
Mother: Who's your daddy?
Otis:
I'm the one who beats you when you're bad.
Baby: Who's your daddy?
Mother: Who's your daddy?
Otis: Come on, sweetie. Give the old man some sugar.
Denise Willis: Daddy, Daddy.
Otis:
And I'm the one who loves ya when you're fucking dead!

The bigger the cushion...

Lt. George Wydell: Have you seen this girl in the past 24 hours?
Captain Spaulding: Yeah, cute kid. Ain't my type though. You know, I like 'em with a little more meat on 'em. Ha ha.
The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin'.Deputy Steve Naish: Come on clownie, just answer the damn questions. We ain't interested in your love life.
Lt. George Wydell: Cut the crap Spaulding and get with the facts.

To act wisely...

To act wisely when the time for action comes, to wait patiently when it is time for repose, put man in accord with the tides. Ignorance of this law results in periods of unreasoning enthusiasm on the one hand, and depression on the other.

Eleanor Roosevelt Quotes

A little simplification would be the first step toward rational living, I think.

A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.

Ambition is pitiless. Any merit that it cannot use it finds despicable.

Anyone who thinks must think of the next war as they would of suicide.

As for accomplishments, I just did what I had to do as things came along.

Autobiographies are only useful as the lives you read about and analyze may suggest to you something that you may find useful in your own journey through life.

Do what you feel in your heart to be right- for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

Freedom makes a huge requirement of every human being. With freedom comes responsibility. For the person who is unwilling to grow up, the person who does not want to carry is own weight, this is a frightening prospect.

Friendship with ones self is all important, because without it one cannot be friends with anyone else in the world.

Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.

Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product.

Hate and force cannot be in just a part of the world without having an effect on the rest of it.

Have convictions. Be friendly. Stick to your beliefs as they stick to theirs. Work as hard as they do.

I believe that anyone can conquer fear by doing the things he fears to do, provided he keeps doing them until he gets a record of successful experience behind him.

I can not believe that war is the best solution. No one won the last war, and no one will win the next war.

I have spent many years of my life in opposition, and I rather like the role.

I once had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. But I was not pleased to read the description in the catalogue: no good in a bed, but fine up against a wall.

I think that somehow, we learn who we really are and then live with that decision.

I'm so glad I never feel important, it does complicate life!

If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and be without flavor.

In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.

It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.

It is not fair to ask of others what you are not willing to do yourself.

It is not more vacation we need - it is more vocation.

It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it.

It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.

Life must be lived and curiosity kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life.

My experience has been that work is almost the best way to pull oneself out of the depths.

Never allow a person to tell you no who doesn't have the power to say yes.

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

Probably the happiest period in life most frequently is in middle age, when the eager passions of youth are cooled, and the infirmities of age not yet begun; as we see that the shadows, which are at morning and evening so large, almost entirely disappear at midday.

Remember always that you not only have the right to be an individual, you have an obligation to be one.

Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

The giving of love is an education in itself.

Understanding is a two-way street.

We are afraid to care too much, for fear that the other person does not care at all.

When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it?

With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.'

You must do the things you think you cannot do.

You have to accept whatever comes and the only important thing is that you meet it with courage and with the best that you have to give.

Harry & Me

Although he is a wizard hero and I a girl from the suburbs, Harry Potter is my friend. I have travelled with Harry from Privet Drive to Gringotts and Hogsmeade. I was there when he caught his first snitch, and I was there when he faced soul-sucking creatures called dementors. Even though I never found Platform 9 and 3/4, I have been to Hogwarts for six years. I have laughed with Harry whenever shenanigans occurred. I have cried with Harry when his friends had passed. Moreover, Harry has taught me the power of one’s own choice and the importance of love. As we both grew up, our lives mirrored one another’s, albeit the fact that Harry had to deal with Voldemort. Even if Harry was only a fictional character with fictional friends, living in a fictional world, for a cowardly child, I admired his undeniable courage and loyalty, and I hoped that, perhaps one day, I could be that brave.

For non-HP fans, all these emotional responses from HP lovers may seem ridiculous. But what they do not understand is that Harry and his friends have been with many of us since childhood. They come alive every time we open our Harry Potter books. And each fan has his/her own connection to Harry and his friends. I could list the many, many ways that Harry Potter has touched HP fans’ lives, but nothing can fully describe this legacy, nor can any future generation truly understand.

Although people have dubbed this last Harry Potter film as “the end,” Harry will live on in all who choose to remember him. Personally, as I go through my own transitionary period in my life, I know the lessons and memories from Harry Potter & co. will live on in my mind and heart.

So, thank you Harry Potter. You were, and always will be, magical.

- I didn't write this.

Noviembre.

Pues no.
